The Doberman. The Working Breed.
The Doberman is the only breed of dog created for personal protection. Today's Dobermans range from goofy family dogs to serious working dogs. If you are looking for a Doberman to add to your family, it's important that you're up to speed on the Doberman of 2020. Know the temperament suited for you and your family, and understand today's genetic and health challenges. With at least 58% of all Dobermans dying from Dilated Cardiomyopathy (DCM) or other genetic diseases, it's important to get up to speed. Know the facts. Being informed will not only help you find the puppy right for you, but will help you understand today's available health and genetic testing, and how to keep your Doberman healthy for as long as is possible.
This website was created for YOU.
Yep. This website is our attempt to pay forward the decades of help and education provided to us by countless breeders, veterinarians, and in recent years, PhD veterinary geneticists and PhD veterinary epigeneticists. The Doberman world is full of urban legends and misunderstandings. This website was created to help you sift through that information and understand today's Doberman -- inside and out.
You won't find your new puppy here.We are not breeders. We are not a kennel. We are not importers. We are working Dobermann enthusiasts. We have no puppies available and we have no plans to breed a litter. Our imported dogs are family members and working Dobermanns who love to do what Herr Karl Friedrich Louis Dobermann intended when he developed the breed in 1890: WORK (and of course, love their family and lay on the couch at day's end).
